Inspection Engine — Scheduled Checks That Drive Corrective Action
Configurable inspection templates, photo evidence capture, and corrective action workflows that track every finding to resolution.
Configurable templates
Build inspection checklists for LEV, scaffolding, plant guards, fire equipment, housekeeping, or any site-specific requirement.
Templates are fully configurable — add checklist items, define pass/fail criteria, set inspection frequency, and assign to specific roles or locations. Pre-built templates available for common inspection types including workplace general, plant and equipment, chemical storage, fire safety, and scaffolding.
Photo evidence
Attach photos to findings. Before/after evidence for corrective actions.
Inspectors capture photos directly within the inspection using their device camera. Photos are linked to specific checklist items and findings, creating visual evidence of conditions observed. Corrective actions include before and after photos to demonstrate resolution.
Corrective action workflow
Every finding generates a corrective action with owner, due date, and completion tracking.
Non-conformances identified during inspections automatically generate corrective actions. Each action is assigned to an owner, given a priority and due date, and tracked through to completion with evidence of close-out. Overdue actions escalate to management.
What happens without structured inspections
You conduct inspections on paper. The inspector notes a damaged guard on a grinder. The paper form goes into a tray. Three weeks later, nobody has replaced the guard. A worker is injured. SafeWork NSW asks for your inspection records. You produce the paper form showing you knew about the damaged guard three weeks ago. You identified the hazard and did nothing. This is worse than not inspecting at all.
How It Works
Schedule
Set inspection frequency — daily, weekly, monthly — for each template and location. Assign inspectors. System sends reminders.
Inspect
Complete the checklist on a mobile device. Capture photos. Note findings. Flag non-conformances.
Act
Corrective actions generated, assigned, tracked, and closed. Dashboard shows open actions, overdue items, and trends.
Compliance Mapping
| Regulation | Section | Requirement | How This Module Meets It |
|---|---|---|---|
| WHS Act 2011 | s.19 | Primary duty of care — ensure so far as is reasonably practicable the health and safety of workers | Regular inspections demonstrate proactive hazard identification as part of the primary duty of care. |
| WHS Regulation 2025 | Various | Specific inspection requirements for plant, scaffolding, electrical, confined spaces | Pre-built templates for regulation-mandated inspections with frequency scheduling and evidence capture. |
| Code of Practice | How to manage WHS risks | Monitor and review control measures | Inspections verify that control measures remain effective. Findings link back to risk assessments for review. |
